Pluto is a manga written by Naoki Urasawa. It is a reboot designed to take a complex character or situation and greatly simplify it, in this case it’s Astro Boy. Specifically it’s a reboot of the Astro Boy story arc “The Greatest Robot on Earth”.

In the future, humans and robots co exist. However, someone or something is targeting the seven most advanced robots on Earth, killing them one by one. Even so, this killer is killing humans as well. Only a powerful robot could be killing the other robots – but all robots are unable to kill humans with one exception. German detective Gesicht, who is a robot, investigates the killings to figure out the link between the murders of the advanced robots and the humans. He is also one of the targets as well, giving this case a sense of urgency for him.
